somebody help me PLEEEASE!

I just got a 2nd hand MPC 2000XL and there are no sounds assigned to the pads yet. I have an external CD drive and a few CDs with loads of different drum sounds on. Please can somebody tell me how to get the drum sounds from the CDs assigned to the pads! It's driving me nuts and the manual might as well be in Greek!

Manual is pretty decent. Not as good as the beat making on the 2KXL but still...

First you load the samples you wanna assign to the pads (press shift + load). Check chapter 10 of the manual :: Loading Files.

Than you wanna assign those samples to the pads. You do that in the program menu (press shift + program).

I usually press the pad I wanna assign a specific sample to and than I choose the right sample with the jog wheel.

It is one of those things you just got to sit with the manual and the mp hand and hand and just learn it. Master your way around the mp and the eaiser it will be for you to get your ideas out .... beileve me its worth it ...
