Mpc2500 and motife s question!

Hi! I have a motif es 6 for 2 days now and today i hooked it up whit my mpc. My problem is i play on the motif and record to the mpc whit midi cables but the mpc doesnt record it but when i play on the mpc pads it will record the midi track. What is wrong?

Mpc:Midi out to Motif Midi in

Mpc: Sync in 1 slave Mode off Sync out Master
Mpc:Seq1 Track1 Midi 1A

But what to do whit the Motif i dont now what to do!
So can anywone help e please!

it is in mpc midi in to motif midi out and mpc midi out to motif midi in

do you have the audio outs of the motif going anywhere? the way you are describing your setup, it seems as if you are just recording midi notes and not able to hear anything. is this right? if so, you have to have your main outs from your motif going to either a mixer or directly to monitors.

yes i have connect it i can hear the sounds but whn i play on the motif keys the mpc doesent record it and when i play on the mpc pads it is recording it.
i dont now what to do is my mpc setting wrong or the motif settings?
i dont now whre th motif settings are and what to chose.

ok, i think i am beginning to understand what you are saying.

in order for you to be able to play the motif's keys and record it on the mpc, you have to have a midi cable going from the motif out to the mpc in.
once you do that, you will be able to record the motif using the keys into the mpc.

i was assuming that you had everything on the motif setup right. you have to go into the setup screen on the motif and change the settings to allow the sounds to come out on certain midi channels and then on the mpc, you have to set it up to allow incoming midi on the same channel.
