****FORMATTING QUESTION****HELP!

After finding out my beats folder on my hard drive was corrupted and unreadable, I updated my 2.10 OS to the JJ OS. In the load screen, if I got to the corrupted folder it is not deleteable, but by pressing the window button when this folder is highlighted it gives me the option to format. I am nervous that formatting will delete everything I just reloaded onto my hard drive. If I highlight the folder, press window and select format will it only format the folder or the entire memory of my hard disk??

Format is not folder specific, it's usually the WHOLE hard drive, no execptions, unconditional, no love for your samples, nothing saved, everything killed and sent to hell, all songs laid onto the freeway and ran over several times, all midi data placed in a platinum casket and dropped off a cliff into a bottomless chasm, u get the point....

If nothing else works, just make a backup of all your not corrupted stuff and format.

If you haven't formatted after installing the JJ os then you still have a corrupt drive, regardless of how many folders you can or cannot still access.

You need to copy off the intact files and reformat with JJ. If you do not, you will encounter the same corruption issues again, because JJ os or not you are still using an Akai 2.1 formatted drive. THAT is the problem.
