i have the following setup and would like to know how effectivly i can use it to get the most out of my system.

mpc 2kxl, garage band (mac),turntable, midi keyboard, mixer and turntable.
i prefer keyboard based music with sampled bass.

should i just use drums from the mpc and seq, mix from the garage band?

any advice is greatly appreciated!

I don't know about this garage band stuff...if you are serious you'll probably want cool edit or cubase or something, shouldn't be too hard on the wallet.

I would sequence in the MPC. Record the audio into Gargae Band. Or use another audio sequencer like Cubase (like Jontakiff suggested) or Logic o even pro Tools to record the completed tracks into for DAW editing and mixing.

Peace.

No.
Record the keyboard's "midi notes" into the MPC along with your drums and samples as an MPC sequence. Then play it all back, recording the "sounds" from the MPC and keyboards outputs into your computer and into Garage Band or another program.

Peace.
