I went to step edit so that I can put 2 kicks(same note, same kick) on top of each other(1.01.01) but every time I play the shit the note that I just put on top of the kick disapears. Pls tell me that it is normal?? You cant put 2 same note(same pad) on top of each other??? I copied and paste but every **** time I go out step edit mode and go back the **** thing disapears and Im left with the original. I know you can put multi notes(pads) as long as they are different pads but you cant **** put 2 same pads in a tick???????

Man there must be something wrong with my mpc coz I clearly see multi pads(all the same pad numbers) on page 46-49 of the **** manual... Let me know asap!!!!

ps: i know how to use simltaneus sound assignment but thats not what im tyin to do, I just want to know if you can put 2 same pads in a tick....

thanks

No settings that I'm aware of. to do this you would either have to copy it to another pad, or copy the sample then paste it to the same sample in a mix mode if you can.

Does it go out of phase and dissaper? I know bass can cancel itself out. Kicks are around the same freq.

I think the problem is happening because the length of the first kick exceeds the time between the first kick, and second kick. I've had instances where a long sample would stop the next note of the same sample from triggering because the length of the note "ran over" into the other note, so it didn't play it. Try messing with your polyphony, or change the duration of the first kick. If none of that works, try moving one of them to 0.00.02 and see what happens.

Why are you doin 2 of the same sample at once? To get a fuller sound? If none of this works for you, move them on top of eachother in your favorite wave editor and put it to disk. You'll be using less memory that way anyway. Instead of 2 kick samples, you'll have one.

Yes thats normal, its there to help you when you want to correct the length of a note/sample.

To get the result you want:
Just copy the midi track where your kicks at, and have the two tracks playing at the same time.

thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!

No I tried to put 2 of the same pads on the same TICK. I swear when I did it the first time it worked. Thats kinda stupid though not being able to do that coz you can do alot of shit with that thing. Say you really wanna get intimate with your drums you can add same **** kicks then just adjust the attk decay whatever floats your boat. I know you can do this some other way but man wouldnt have been nice.

It alright though as long as my mpc is properly functioning. That was my concern LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

one other thing, when I use simultaneous sound, I hear cancelation/phasing sometimes. It doesnt happen all the time but it mostly happens on snare or on some high sounding kick. DOnt know why its phasing but when that happenes I just use different sound and use simul.......

I think using a different sequencer track is the best solution, that way you don't sacrifice a pad.

in the step edit screen move the highlighted field down to an empty field below the original kick or whatever then try it. if the kick is highlighted then it will only replace it if it isn't highlighted it may place a new sound in that spot. Maybe....i will try it here in a minute..
