Tracking motif rack sounds into Pro Tools.

Ok. It's like this:

I have an MPC2500 (that I use as the master) and a Motif ES Rack. I sequence in the MPC and once I finish my beats I track them into Pro Tools. The MPC sounds track in fine. But the motif tracks don't. I don't get a signal on any of the lines. I know that the Motif rack transfers MIDI data to the MPC, but how do I track out those sounds into Pro Tools? This problem has me stumped! Please let me know!

Ok let me see if I got this strait you aren't getting any sound to the interface? which interface do you have? did you check your connections since you are using the mpc as the master depending on the interface you have make sure both the outs of the mpc and the motif are in the interface also make sure the midi connections between the mpc and the motif are made and one to the interface so it can control the mpc which is controling the motif rack arm your tracks you want to record get a signal hit record and should work.

I have an MBox2. The MPC is hooked to it through S/PDIF. I've tried using an XLR from the rack into the MBox and that didn't work either. Anymore suggestions for me?

1. mpc audio outs -> mixer.

2. rack audio outs -> mixer.

3. mpc midi in/out -> rack.

4. mixer -> mbox.

SPDIF and the 2 channel analog input are the same 2 inputs, not 4
channels of input, that's what I think.

Get rid of that mbox2 and get something with enough discrete inputs to handle your gear.

use the quater inch inputs to record the signals from the two machines and see if it works
