I was just playing with a program called 'Live' from Ableton. You can download a demo at http://www.ableton.com/. This program is SICK  . You can play with loops live directly from disk and speed up or slow down the tempo, and the loops are will automatically time strech/shrink....no stopping! It will give you up to 8 tracks of simultanious playback. Its not a editor at all, but seems like a great tool for experimenting with loops. I think you can also trigger different loops from the MPC's pads. There is a MAC and PC version. Check it!

I been hearing a lot of good things about LIVE. Looks like a good tool. It will record your performances correct? Then would you just import them into PT or Logic, ect?

It will sync with PT or Logic, so you dont even need to import if you dont want.

Earth have you ever used your 4k in conjunction with Reason?

No, I've only used the demo and played with Reason in other studios. I would like to get it, but I've basically been waiting for Pro Tools 6.0 for OS X before I start buying new software. So far, I've been trying to get the best hardware, but I'm waiting for the next generation (MAC OS-X) to arrive before I spend a lot of money on software! Although a lot of great software has upgraded to OS X, (Logic, Peak, Live, etc...) I'm still waiting for my main system (Pro Tools) to upgrade.........NEXT MONTH!!!! This year I plan a major overhaul of my system into the OS X realm! Then I will get some great software that I have wanted for a while......(Logic, Reason, Peak, Live....)

As far a 'Live'....It's a completely different tool than Reason. It (Live) is great for messing with loops and coming up with ideas, because you can adjust loops from disk (HD) on the fly. But, it is on a different page than 'Reason.' Its not a sampler or sound module.... It is strictly for experimenting with loops, and coming up with ideas....IN REAL TIME!!! Its perfect for people who are doing electronic sh1t...(LIVE)
