dead mpc 2000xl-mcd pads.

having trouble with the pads. everything works except the pads now. when assigning individually, there are no sound or not even registering on the LCD. when i tap each one. (pads:A01-D64) F6 to play works tho. i bought the machine brand new, only mod is the basic 32mb simm/8 output expander install. that was the only time i open the system. why is this happening? what can i do to fix this problem? can anyone help me pls.?!...

Have you tried reffering to the manual to check if you are doing everything in the right order and not missing any detail ?
I understand that you have the 8 outs installed?
There were some topics about problems with assigning sounds to 8 outs and not getting the sound from machine.
Maybe a search will help.

you might have touched the "tape" that connects the pads to the mainboard and made it loose. i had a similar problem, but only one row of pads was failing, i just opened up the unit, pressed in the cable in and great success, i like. i even scoth-taped the pad rubber so it doesn't pull the cable out when im dry humping the mp. seeing as you opened the unit up to install memory and outs, this might be the issue.
