I know we're short on OS memory, but there's still room for changes that influence the style of working. Plus, changes involve new bugs in most cases. I for my part would like no more features, but a stable, bug-free OS so I can focus on my workflow and, above all, on making music.
What do you think? More changes or not?

JJ's OS is awesome as is, but there's a couple things that I think would enhance the work flow and not take up to much valuable rom space...

i'd like a quicker way to double my sequence bars.
Something that doesn't involve going into sequence edit.

Also, I'd like to be able to offset a sample start time in the program mode.
Non-destructive chopping! It's in qLink mode, so it shouldn't be too difficult to add to the program level.

There's some other work flow things that I'm forgetting at the moment, but those are the main features that I'd like to see.

But it takes literally 5 seconds to copy bars in SEQ edit, so whats the need for another way to do it?

But yes, i agree with the topic of the thread. Small improvements for better workflow is the key.

i agree with the original poster. there is not enough space to add more feature. and there need to be a bit of free spaces for bug fixes. better a stable os.

as it was said, it takes 5sec to double sequences bar. thats surely good enough. ;)

it would be faster if it would default to the number of bars in your sequence instead of always just the first bar, who copies one bar?

^^

Thats a very good idea, just a small workflow improvement, but ur right, never used that bar-edit-screen for anything else.

That's exactly what I don't want.

1) I bet there's a whole lot of people who would like it different
2) I bet there's a whole lot of people (like me) who don't care about those
little things, but have to work with the bugs that come up everytime there
has been a change
3) these are such minor things...come on...as it was said: 5 seconds!

To me, enhancing my style of working doesn't mean to ask for new
features, but to take what's there and get the best out of it, learn to work
with it.
I'm not talking about the art of finding workarounds for really s***ty bugs
like new folder bulls**t (Akai should really get their a*s kicked for that).

But look at what people get out of the 2000 or older models, without JJ OS or even 2.1.

I really appreciate and like JJ OS, but at some point it's time to get back to
work.

there is one and only one addition I would like (aside form bug fixes). I would REALLY love to see the note name (c,d# etc.) in the step edit view. Beyond that, so long as its stable I am very happy with it as is.

i think it is already there. in the main screen set your track to "midi" instead of "drum".

song mode, repeat seq x2, convert song to seq = done !

I am not at home at the moment, so I cant check. if this is there, then I am pretty much set. I know you can get a piano roll type view for tracks set to midi where the 'grid view' is for drum tracks, but thats not the same thing as what I look for in the step edit area.

I don't care if it only takes 5 seconds, it still is a bish if all you want to do is double your sequence, you have to, stop, go to mode: seq Edit, choose bars, cursor to first, last bars, number of repeats blah blah.

Often just enough steps to fugg up the flow.

If there was a button combo from the main screen, or even an option from the bars number to "Double Seq", I think it would be great, and would make loopin up tracks hotter IMO!

To me this would be the next best thing to individual track lengths (which won't happen).

Sorry, I don't understand all the resistance to such a simple idea to improve the interface.
How about if we coupled it with 8 bit conversion? ;)
