mpc file error/trying to load wav into reason samplers

anyone here ever get the message, unknown exception when you try to load a wav file to a sampler device in reason i.e nnxt,19, redrum etc,
I am running a intel imac w/ reason 3.05. the only time I see this dialouge box is when I am trying to load wav files I copied from my compact flash to my desktop of samples from my mpc 2000xl. any folder containing a copied mpc file will not even open in the sample folder browser in reason and an "unknown exception" box pops up . I thought this was weird bcuz these same mpc wav files (44.1khz 16bit) opens up in itunes, quicktime, audacity and any other programs besides reason's samplers but any other soucre of wavs loads up in reason's samplers fine.

one day I notice that a mpc wav file I previously emailed to a friend and downloaded myself from my own email outbox to my desktop opened up in reason's sampler devices without a problem, flawlessly. I didn't know why but figured out that this can be my lame work around solution. has anyone had the same problem and know a way to fix it. it kills my workflow having to spent time emailing myself sounds I have already just so I can use them in reason, and sounds over 10mb can not be emailed with yahoo

why not open the wav file in audacity, save that copy and replace the original w/ the new file. I'll do this anytime i have compatibility issues w/ any wav./mp3./sf./etc.

Not sure if audacity offers the option, but check to see if it offers batch processing, which will allow you to edit multiple samples at the same time with the same effect/change.

thats a good tip, good lookin out Mike, I was trying to avoid the extra steps of using a 3rd party program to convert wav files that are wav already. I just gotta bite the bullet I guess . that sounds better than emailing myself my own stuff. I'll import my samples in audacity first, export and then I'll open them up in reason, I'll let you know if it works.I started to think my problem was a bug that was forcing reason users to invest in recycle or even mabye that the flash being it was formated on the mpc had something to do with it. who knows, my mpc 2kxl has the lastest O.S., when I get a blank memory card I'll format it on the mac first and try to copy and load a file in reason again to see if these errors occur. thanks again
