I already tried searching, so unless I'm retarded...there is really no helpful information on this topic. I'm planning on installing the LCD screen on my MPC 2000XL. But I don't exactly know how. I've pulled my MPC apart countless times and installed 8 outs, memory, a zip drive, and some other things. But I was wondering if anybody had any useful tips on removing the old screen and installing the new one. I really don't want to do any more than I have to...If anybody has pic it would be appreciated.

During the process I plan to take as many pictures as I can to create a step by step instruction to post on here to help others...Please help me out...

please come through with them pictures! they'd be greatly appreciated, one of my lcds is starting to show lines every now and then...... and i rather not send it to VST to get replaced, seeing as it may cost upwards of 40 for them to ship it and to get it shipped back...

I don't need anyone to go all out and explain. I just need to know, do I go in from the bottom or the top. I took off the front piece (where all of the buttons are) and I didn't really see a way to get in to hook it up.

I will definitely make a guide to replacing the screen once I know how to do it. With pics amd all. I'm sure it will really help all others who need to replace their screens...Thanks

Here's an inside pic and my guess is it's like the mpc 2000 classic and you have to go from the top.

I have the XL...So go from the bottom. I had already opened it up from the top, and saw that same thing, but there it a wire that I'm guessing has to be connected through the bottom..Thanks for the helpm guys...I'll be working on it tomorrow...and I'll make the guide as well...

I actually just removed my LCD yesterday trying to check if the bulb had burned out(I gotta dark screen, but all the text). It's really not that difficult at all, and I think that's probably why you don't see many topics on it. But just from doing some searching here's what one cat did in text: http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php ... hlight=lcd

I will be posting the LCD Installation Guide later today. I changed out my LCD screen successfully in 40 minutes...I forgot how beautiful a regular screen is. I can read the words again! I took pictures at all parts that would be confusing...PEACE
