dj type scratching on mpc 1000

I was looking around on youtube and came across a video called "Dj Hoppa Doors Routine". About halfway through the video he does this scratching part with one of the q link sliders. This is one of the main reasons I am getting an mpc, I now own a Fantom x. Does anyone have any idea what type of sample to use or what to set the slider to? Check out the video and you'll see what I'm talking about. Thanks in advance...

go find yourself some dj scratch samples...you can then use the slider to give the scratch sample an authentic sound.

Learn to skratch.. no one likes fake skratchin..

And at the end of the day the dj is the backbone of hiphop.. the main element, why fake that sh!t?

If u want skratchin in ur sh!t then either get a dj.. or put in the work and learn urself. Im sorry but ur want to fake skratch is wack

I didn't ask for your opinion on fake scratching, I just asked for tips on how to do it. If you don't want to do it yourself, then don't. real simple. This is a forum to share knowledge. There are people out there using the mpc in ways you might not like. To me it's like sampling. A lot of people think that sampling isn't an artform...not worth it

Yeah but those who claim samplin is not an artform are expressin opinions based on ignorance and not understanding..

Turntablism is also an artform, and the dj is the backbone of hiphop, without them we wouldnt even be makin beats today..

All im sayin is man.. dont fake that sh!t.. get a turntable and mixer.. and learn to skratch, is there really a problem with that approach? coz if u aint prepared to put in the work or follow the rules u involved urself in the wrong thing

i find it very easy to tell a "fake" scratch from a real scratch. any real head will kno the diff. i dj-ed for bout 5 years before gettin my mpc, i mean it's my favorite part of creating beats,putting that iceing on the cake... i dunno maybe i'm just a tard

p.s. thats MY opinion on "fake scratching". cuz i have the right too my own opinion haha

Point taken... I deffinately prefer real scratching. I even have a turntable, just a cheap one, but I just can't seem to get near the right sounds. Back to the lab I guess...
