Bass line Q-link sliders

Ive seen a Video of someone using pitching on a bass line in a song... Pushing the Q-link slider around to pitch up and pitch down the bass WHILE recording, and when He played it back you could still hear the bass going up and down like he did it.. (all this on a mpc2500)

Is it possible to do this on the 1000 ?? Ive tried stuff with my qlink sliders but i didnt learn it to its maximum capacity... Alll I know is that when I tried, I could push the bass up and down while recording but when I played it back I could only hear the bass the way I left it on my q link slider.. so it was always the same during playback..

Yo,

I can't walk you through it off the top of my head but recording Q-link changes is definitely possible on the 1000. In fact I don't even think there's anything to walk you through. Just try again. Q-link is better than cheese cake :)

qlinks are amazing.

for future reference, anything the 2500 can do software wise, the 1000 can do as well

this may be a dumb question, but I haven't yet been able to figure out how to set the Q-Link to a filter (say Low pass) and alter it during a recording with the slider. Is this possible?

I want that "fade in from muddied-out-low-pass-filter" kind of effect

On the 2kxl I take a sample and set loop on, and ONLY use 3-5 cycles of the bass sample (most of the times it's a layered sinewave), use my slider for tuning and yes, I can record that into my sequence. easy. I'm sure the q-link have more features which make it even easier on those machines.

What I love about the Q-Link sliders is you can have your sample, have the first slider set to tune in note on, then assign the second q-link to the same sample as a cut off filter in real time, or any variation you want, it is the feckin' nads. :D

absolutely.
i always make an autochromatic bass off a combination of saw, sine, triangle, or square waves

qlink 1 to tune (high and low set to - and +10)
and qlink 2 to a lowpass filter with a wet sounding resonance

real nice bass synth...
