Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Just obtained a mpc2000. The manual is confusing me a little. When I create a program and then record a little sequence, whats the correct way to save this then load it back up?

Some people save the .aps file (all programs and sounds) and the all file (all sequences and songs)

i save all sequences and songs and my program (save a program and sounds)

Thanks for the advice!

My mistake was I would only save the Program file. What messes with me is, I could of swore that doing this would work sometimes.

Whats the difference between saving/loading a midi file and a seq file?

saving a sequence file will save your SEQUENCE(s). you know what that is. thats how everything is laid out basically. thats your actual beat. the program is your sounds and how they are arranged and your pad settings and stuff. you need those both to load up your beat correctly

i've never saved a midi file so i dont know why you would need that. maybe the manual will explain?

I do the same thing by hitting SAVE ALL SEQUENCES. I dont load ne sounds in my mpc right now but when I did I would save a program or either SAVE ALL PROGRAMS. But when using a floppy disk its not much u can save on to it without it getting full u know.
