which is the best piano for the MPC 500

Neither of the machines you mentioned are pianos. And anything can work with the MPC, as long as it has MIDI inputs (for sound modules) our outputs (for controllers). The rest is a matter of taste..

well i just one a piano or something close to it, so i can work with my mpc, i mean a good sound machine that i can count on an do some heavy hip hop! i was actually thinking about a triton but i dont know is to expensive

Take a look at the Alesis Fusion. It has 4 synth engines (sampling/VA/PM/FM), a fully fledged sequencer and a 40GB hard drive with 8 track digital audio recording. I have my MPC1K sync'd up to my Fusion 6HD and it is a lethal combination.

Fusion's can be had brand new now for silly money too.

Plus, they're both made by the same company

i have the microkorg, it's pretty dope to tell you the truth but it takes a long time to learn how to manipulate the sounds the way you want them. Its a good choice, ive had mine since christmas and im still learning with it.

You should try a Yamaha MO6, or is that too expensive for your budget ? It has really great sounds and a nice workstation, but no sampling which you probably dont need.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but it sounds like you're just getting into the game.

If so, you don't want to buy anything too big and complicated like a Fusion or Triton if you're just after some basic sounds, otherwise it will screw your head up trying to learn it (this can even put people off the whole music making thing!)

So, you want a basic sound module that will be simple to use, and give you a wide variety of sounds (including a piano).

Korg Micro X - This has some great onboard sounds, very simple to use, and will serve you well for a long time.

just how good is?is it worth the cash?

I had one since it was realised and its the most amazing keyboard I have ever come across. Its basically a Korg Triton with tons more features and sounds.

Don't get me wrong my Access Virus TI Polar is an amazing synth but the sounds on the Micro-X are awesome.

It has all the classic M1 Organ, Piano and Bass. I could go on all day about its features and how great it sounds, I highly recommend one.

I payed £419 for it I would buy it again tomorrow if I had to.

Get it fir under £380 and its day light robbery

I saw your mpc500 video, one of the FEW videos that actually explain some stuff. Good job man.

I enjoyed making it and although it was a bit rough, I would like to do some more. This time I'll get the proper camera out and I've been experimenting using some eLearning software that I use in my day job to demonstrate computer programs in a better way.
