mpc3000 got a digital in right? so if i get one of these turntables with a digital out i can plug that straight into the mp without a preamp?

I used a digital coaxial cable and connected it from the TTX's SPDIF out to the 3000's Digital in. It worked, but the sound was very low: the input meter on the 3000's display allmost did not move at all. And there are no way to adjust the digital in's sensitivity on the 3000 or the digital out's volume on the TTX.
I use a Shure M97XE Cartridge on the TTX. I have not tried with my M44-7's yet, wich has higher output volume (9.5 mV) than the M97XE (4.0 mV). But if I can't record samples at a normal level with the digital in, I will use the line out from the TTX to the analog in's instead. And maybe the digital converter in the TTX does not have as great sound as the MPC's? I will not take that chance, because the MP's are great!
Have you tried it yet, Manilla? Tell us how the results was with your gear.
