is the error msg i get when try to load my .pgm
I have a fully maxed MP3KLE & I am using Recycle with the PGMaker.
Is there a limit on putting slices on a zip disc, or even just the size of the slice when feeding it to the MP?

1 Batch that was only 6MB big worked fine, the subsequent 2 loads were both around 13MB (all 3 different zip discs). Or is the PGMaker playing up?

How much memory is in your MPC3000 ?

Fully maxed out with the factory recommended expansion of 16 megabytes ?

Fully maxed out with the Roger Linn Design recommended exapansion of 32 megabytes ?

Or maxed out as boxed with only 8 megabytes installed ?

Or, fully maxed out and perhaps, some failed ram ?

Yes there is a limit to the number of samples you can fit in the ROOT of an MPC3000 partition.

Although, in this instance; the disk is nothing to do with this error you're receiving.

The error you're recieving is related to sample memory allocation space.

IE: Not enough of it available.

Could be the PGMaker playing up ...... or, some of your sample RAM is failing.

Could be that there isn't as much RAM in your MPC3000 as first thought ?

Or...... perhaps you're leaving samples loaded into memory without realising and trying to load additional ones on top ?

Verify the ammount of RAM installed by reporting the largest sample you can record into memory on a fresh booted machine.

If you have enough RAM installed to accomodate the PGM and SND sizes to be loaded then perhaps the PGMaker is messing things up.

when I sample in stereo I can jog the wheel up to 94.2 max (take it thats only 16MB) however that should be sufficient, shouldnt it?

Looks like the PGMaker is messing around.....
Do you have any other ideas you have on this issue

Right so...... fully maxed as per the AKAI recommended expansion of megabytes.

Should be enough.

Try loading your 13 MEGABYTE PGM/SND combo on a clean boot of the MPC30000 and see if it can be loaded.

If so then you may have had other sounds loaded in memory and not realised.

The PGMaker has been known to do some odd stuff ( earlier versions ). I would suggest nuking your PGMaker install and fresh/reinstalling it with the latest version from scratch.

Consider also upgrading your MPC3000 RAM to 32 megabytes.
