the best idea would be to have a big enough keyboard that you could plonk you mpc on it, and produce away.

Yeah it was more of a big deal when I had the MPC on a different wall, but I managed to get it a bit closer to the keyboard, but it's still like 2 feet or so away. It's a pain having limited room-space and desk-space, I suppose I could build a rack of some kind that would place the MPC on a shelf directly above the keyboard.
