How do i connect my MPC1000 to my other eqiupment?

How do i connect my MPC1000 to my other eqiupment?

Basically i have a turntable, MPC1000, active monitors and a roland fantom XA.

I know how to connect the turntable to the MPC, but how do i connect the MPC to my roland fantom XA, and what cables do i need to this. Also is it possible to have it connected to the keyabord and when i press the pads, sound will come out my active monitors or will only anything done on the keyabord make sound.

Buy two cheap midi cables in your local store. Midi out of the mpc goes to midi in of your keyboard. Midi out of your keyboard goes to midi in of the mpc.
Check to wich midi channel the keyboard is listening. you can select that on the keyboard. Set an mpc track to type midi and select the midi channel of the keyboard. Now if you press the pads you will hear the keyboard sound.

The other way is that you have samples in your mpc and play then with your keyboard. Then you don't have to set midi channel.

debatable, cause im gd with my akai mpc1000 its just connecting to other equipment is a problem for me. I managed to get 2 midi cables and did what u said, when i press the keys the akai sounds play, is there anyway to play the pads and they come out the speakers as well? Or do i have to get an output for the MPC and keyabord and connect them both into my speakers?

Follow my guideline below. Should get you going. You should have your TT connection under control.

Connecting a Keyboard to the MPC:

Keyboard Settings:
MIDI OUT to MPC MIDI IN
Local Control OFF
Make sure its in Multi-Mode
Route Audio Outs(headphone out if stereo out isnt available) to your Mixer

MPC Settings:
MIDI OUT to Keyboard MIDI IN
Turn DRUM to MIDI 1A or 1B(most likely 1A)
Route Audio OUTS(stereo outs or headphone out) to your mixer

Cables Required:MIDI(2) and Audio Cables(depends on how many outs the gear has)

Example:
Say you have a bass on the keyboard and it is on Channel 2(track 2 for some keyboards with onboard sequencers)

Then the MPC should be set to MIDI:2A

So basically whatever the sound in the keyboard is the number should be the same on the MPC.

Channel 1 or Track 1=MIDI 1A
Channel 2 or Track 2=MIDI 2A

ect....

Real simple and easy.
