In every o.s. prior to 4.50 there is a bug. If you lay down some drums (mainly kicks) then record a sample the full length of the bars you are using on tracks 57-64 and take that audio track and put in on say track 5. You can then hear the kicks get louder and quieter the closer you get to your end of bars. So say at the 1st of 4 bars the kicks will be really loud then start getting quieter and quieter. It only does this after you record a sample that's the full length of your set though. If you guys can't hear that then I don't think 90% of the people on these forums have trained ears or have cheap monitors to where they can't notice it. Other people I asked that come around said they don't hear it, but once I point it out then they say they can hear it.

I also noticed if you lay down all the sampled tracks then go back and delete the messed up sounding kick track and re-lay the kicks they will play normal. I'm not into back tracking though. It will also do it sometimes if you just record a sample and not even include it in your mix. You record it then scroll it out of track 57 and still have just the drum tracks playing. It's caused from the recording of a sample.

This happens in every o.s. prior to 4.50 for me, I submitted this to jj about 5 times. No fix yet. I'm getting kinda irritated with it. Everytime other people from here submit a bug it's fixed within 1-2 days.

Mine is a bug because it does it only on 4.50 up.

I thought I found a fix the other day, but it didn't stay like it was the first time.

I had to edit this 5 times from forgetting some stuff. :)

it's not an os related problem.
it's called phase (the phaser effect intend to emulate those "phased"layers).

So what's the fix then?

I don't even mess with the phase filter if that's what you mean. And are you saying that it does this normally after a sample is recorded? Cause it didn't do it before 4.50.

If it is from the phase then what's the fix?

i don't really understand what is the problem.
could you upload to wav file examples ?

1 where it plays back fine
1 where it plays back with the bug

I can upload the program with the samples and whatever. Let me make a new one without the samples, then save it. Then I will add the samples and save it. Hang on this might take a minute though.

ive never noticed it. seems odd though. looking forward for examples.

This a an example. It is messing up the synth sound in this one not the drum kicks. Just pay attention to the synth mainly.

Notice how it messes up the pitch of the synth after it loops a few times around.

It does the drums alot but on this one it did the synth.

Here is one where it messes up the kick. Listen to it from the start till the end of the bars. The kicks are louder than normal at the start of the bars then quieter than normal after bar 2. So 1-2 bar is loud and 3-4 is quieter.

And both of the downloads are in 7z compression. Winrar will extract them.

ok, if you look in step edit, change view to 'NOTES :A05'

you should be able to see two of the same note at the same time. basically you've got phasing issues on the sample. if you delete one of the notes, it fixes your problem (i hope) the other thing you can do, is change that sample to mono on global program edit on the sample page (F1) over on the right in the column entitled 'VOICE'.

hope this helps.

So basically go into step edit and delete the double notes? I never did those double notes to start with.

I tried to change the sample to mono, but if I add 2 samples then they both won't play at the same time.

It is double hits in step edit, but it's only on the kicks track. Weird.. So it was caused by the sample recording?

i think you're confusing the program 'poly/mono' with the voice overlap 'poly/mono'. the program one makes all notes in the program cut each other off, the voice overlap one means that each pad cuts itself off, changing the voice overlap to mono will stop you having phasing problems and possibly running out of polyphony.

also, if you think you didn't record two notes, why would it be there? could the pad be breaking down?

I didn't record 2 times. The pad isn't breaking down because my kicks aren't always on the same pad.

How do I turn off the poly you are referring to? The voice overlap one in the PARAMS section? If so I have tried that.

btw thanks for your help mod.

to turn the voice overlap to mono, go to mode+pad7 or mode+pad11 in program mode, it's on the 'PARAMS' page, and on global program edit it's on the 'SAMPLE' page.

admittedly, i only downloaded the first project, so i'll download the second to see what i can see.

ok, just had a look at the other one with the loud drums, the same thing. double notes. just delete one of the two, and you're set. i can't think why this would be happening if your pads are ok, perhaps you are trying to do a slight ghost note with T.C. on, and it is moving the note to the same position as the other?

or possibly, you are recording the sequence, and you just overdubbed over the beginning of the sequence again?

anyways, hope that sorts your problem out.

It does fix it by deleting the second, but I don't do any ghosting and the second beat was just layed down track by track, no over dubbing and that's it. Thanks for you help.

I lay down track 1 then 2 then 3 then go to 57 record sample then go to track 5 put the sample on a new pad and record 5 as that sample. No effects or overdubbing added. Then it creates the second set of sounds for the kick. It's gotta be a bug of some sort. I know I'm not the only one this happens to.
