Can I change pitch of a sound and assin it to another pad?

How do I change the pitch of a sound and program it to another pad? Creating a keyboard effect.

I am saving up for an MPC but I want to get some tips before I make the purchase.

assign the sample to the desired pads, and adjust the TUNE level on each pad in the >Program>Sample field....Or, just simply use the 16 LEVELS function.
