Are you doing it with a vst? I use alot of analog vst's like Arturia software.

Are you using spdif also?

does it make a difference if you don't use these things? i don't think it will.

What do you mean?

Don't use spdif? And don't use arturia software?

It's not only arturia though. It's any vst with the right pitch. And as for spdif. why should I be limited if it's an optional way of recording?

yes, record, for example, a record from a turntable through the analog ins, and see if the same happens. it should do. i beleive the content of the sample is irrelevant, and that some operation or sequence of operations you aree doing on the mpc is causing note duplication. i don't think it has anything to do with the type of sound.

I don't have a turntable as of yet. And when I tried to use analog for my vst's the sound gets really high pitched and scratchy in the mpc. Feedback problem maybe?

could be, try turning monitor off in the record screen.

No go it does it all the time. Maybe I just don't know how to use the mp or the other 300 viewers of this thread aren't using it the same way as me. I guess I'm on my own. Thanks for your help man.

I´m about 20 of these viewers because im really curious how the bug knows if you sample is rather low or high freq... really weird. I would try it for myself but got no digital source (only optical) and if modnar isnt able to recreate what should i do?

edit: typed to fast..

I don't know. :(

I know it's not from what I'm doing though.

If you listen to the first program I posted you can hear how the synth changes. You can also see for yourself that it creates dual notes on the kicks.

I didn't even know that's what was causing the distorted sound until modnar told me.

is there any chance you could video the process?

The change of the sound of the synth comes from the double note. It seems the mpc tries to play them at the same time but the outcome of that will be different each time, like one time they add up, next time freqs get cancelled out, just like random.

Remains the mystery of the appearing notes, couldnt recreate that, maybe i´ll try again later.

From reading this entire thread, it appears that this is not a bug with the OS, but a problem caused by either you or your mpc.

ya...someone mentioned at the beginning that it sounds like a textbook case of phase cancellation, which usually happens when you run two identical tracks in 'almost-sync'.

i'd audition each track individually...even shut your external gear off. i'm not sure if i completely understood the post, but it seems as though you may have a midi loop happening, which could easily explain the problem you've described...basically, the mpc is sequencing the sequence back to itself as it also plays the sample of the sequence, if that makes any sense.

I didn't record 2 times. The pad isn't breaking down because my kicks aren't always on the same pad.

If its the same sample on a seperate pad it doesnt matter if its on a diff pad, it will still phase. Dont know if that helps but that needed to be clarified

Huh? I don't understand what your saying.
