Pad / Sample Play length?

I have a MPC 1000 at home and I am am using a MPC 4000 for a recording project right now.

What I wanted to know was on the 1000 you can set the pad (In Program) to either play the full sample or how long you hold the pad determines how much of the sample plays, Is there a way to do that on the 4000?

Turn on or off that funtion?
