I didn't record 2 times. The pad isn't breaking down because my kicks aren't always on the same pad.

If its the same sample on a seperate pad it doesnt matter if its on a diff pad, it will still phase. Dont know if that helps but that needed to be clarified

Huh? I don't understand what your saying.

he's saying if the sample is on two different pads, as long as they sound at the same time, it will phase.

The sample isn't on 2 different pads. It's only on one. Like in the video.

Or do you mean 2 different samples hitting at the same time will phase?

What i mean is if you have two of the same exact sound hitting at the same time they will phase. No matter if they are located in different pads, this will happen if they are the same sound. Even if you two copies of the same sound and filter them differently they can still phase depending on if some of the same frequencies are present in both copies. SOmeone more knowledgable can correct me if im wrong but this is my understanding based on experience.

sorry for the delay in coming back to you, thanks for the video.

here's a couple of things to try:

am i right in thinking you have input thru turned on when you record on track 57? if so, turn it off, as soon as you press record, you can hear the audio input that is selected in the record screen.

separately to the above suggestion (ie try it with and without in thru turned on) try this also with less bars and more bars, we need to isolate the exact combination of things that are causing this so JJ can fix it.

thanks.

But I'm not using the SAME sample on 2 different pads with different effects. Watch the video.

And I have before used the same exact hi hat on 2 different pads with different effects and it didn't do that. The mpc should only play the pad that was hit. Not the sound but the pad. (of course it will play the sound, but it's really only triggering the pad).

Sorry if I sound like I'm being rude, because I'm not.
It just doesn't make sense to me for this to be brought up on this issue. The 3 kicks I'm using are different kicks with different names and no sound in the video has an effect added. It was a straight load from the hard drive on a fresh booted mp.

Yes I have input thru turned. I can't hear my beat play with my vst if it's off.

I will try it without it on though.

Do you see now what it's doing?

Thanks modnar.

EDIT: Sorry for the double post.

Ok, here it is.

I tried it with input thru off. It did it still. I tried it with all midi off and it still did it. I tried it with input thru set to mono L and input thru off, it made some hits x4. (quadruple). I tried different sets of bars and still the same thing. I had my kicks going for 4 bars and the vst recording for 5 bars and it doesn't matter it still does it.

I did notice that every few times it would make the hi hat and snare cut out after 2 bars but I mentioned that in another thread a few threads of mine ago. (no reply) :)

It seems to do it no matter what setting it's on.

I kinda wish I had somebody close by to help figure this out.

I know it's hard for some to believe it, but it does happen.
I don't know what else to do or try, I can't explain how much this sucks. lol :)

from what i read, the problem is that you get double events recorded, hence the phasing (more noticeable on low frequencies).

so could you make a simple and precise step by step on how to reproduce this double events recorded ?

same as explained in the bug report page

I've only had a chance to glance through this post, but it struck me that it could be down to MIDI feedback ? Triggering one note loops back thru the MIDI setup and retriggers a fraction of a second later.

I may be way off but worth investigating.

If you guys read the whole thread and not just skim thru it, I won't have to repeat what I've tried and what not.

Also on the previous page there is a video showing how it's produced.

It was merely a suggestion.

So I'll just...

Ok, I've watched your vid. I replicated your setup here as best I could, including using S/PDIF from my audio interface to the MPC. I even used Arturia's Analog Factory VST.

And guess what ?

I couldn't replicate it, no matter how hard I tried. No duplicate notes, nothing.

If I were you, I would try isolating the problem by disconnecting everything and then reconnecting one by one and testing. IMHO, it's either user difficulty, something to do with MIDI routing or a faulty MPC, possibly a corrupt OS.

Can't help much more than that.

You say that it only ever happens on kicks, no matter where you place them in the program ? I'm puzzled by this. How does the MPC know to only do it on kicks ? It's good, but it's not got AI LOL ;) ;)

I'm gonna try to unhook everything then do it little by little.

I wasn't referring to you in the last post. You actually had a good point.

I will try it and see what happens.
