Heya,
Been getting "Disc Error" message when loading up my tracks recently. After going to "load All PGMS" the loading process was getting about halfway through before i got the disc error message. I could only press cancel at this point but i could then go load up all sequences but found that half the samples were missing.
I decided to copy the whole disc onto my mac so i could at least have a copy of my song while i wait for my card reader to arrive. When copying it from the zip to the mac.. the mac picked up an error with one of my wave samples (corrupted).. so i deleted that and copied everything else over.
When i put the the whole song back onto another zip and loaded it up on the MPC i got the "can't find sample".. skip etc.. so i just skipped that one sample and it then continued to load up the rest of the samples and programs.
Voila!! all good.. (except the one missing sample) .. i had this problem on a few of my songs.. i'm putting the problem down to the actual discs and not the Zip drive itself as other songs were loading up fine and now all load up fine.
In conculsion.. i wouldnt say that everytime you receive this message that its the actual disc in question.. but before you throw your drive across the room.. try doing the above and see if you can locate the bad file (if thats the problem).
Still though.. can't wait for my card reader to arrive and i can convert everything over to CF and be gone with zips... zips are so 90's..
