ok fellas
now, i use AUTO often and i like it, but as posted in another thread, it is somewhat imprecise. AND, when you think about it, say you have a 8 bar drum loop you want to slice note by note and make a drum kit out of. odds are, you're going to be able to accomplish this goal with either AUTO or just the SLICE function.
either one gets the job done in the same amount of time, really, because since the AUTO fcn is a bit imprecise. either way you have to go to each start/end point and make sure it's good. and in the end, the chopped sample really depends on your chopping ability - how accurate were YOU and your eyes and ears opposed to your sampler's transient detection?
rinseout pointed this out in the previous thread - how much valuable space does Autochop take up in the OS?
so what do you think - can we get by without autochop? who here would really really miss it?
