It doesn't light up or repeat the notes. I just bought it yesterday and it was not used. Do i have to activate the button somehow or should I send my mpc back

GO TO GLOBAL THERE YOU SHOULD SEE A FUNCTION THAT SAYS LATCH OR UNLATCH. THERE IS ALSO ONE FOR THE ERASE BUTTON.

make sure that your timing correct button ( resolution ) is on, if it's not then note repeat will not work

You have to hit play... then apply everything above and it will work
