16 MEG = HOW MUCH STEREO SAMPLE TIME????

My friend just got a 2500 and it has the stock 16 megs of memory. He is telling me that he only has 9 seconds of sample time available. Can anyone confirm how much stereo sample time you should have with 16 megs installed?

It's all in the manual. If he has less than that, it's because there are already samples autoloaded during start up. How to prevent that is also in the manual.

Ur crazy!!?! why would u want 12 mins sample time? if that was all drums and u chopped it would work out to more then 1440 drum hits.. theres no need for that!?

My s2000 is maxed out to 32mb, and thats way way way more then enough

Its just nice to have that leeway to work.

To be able to record almost indefinitely without seeing that "insufficient memory" error.

Plus it's nice for long synth sweeps and multisamples.

Also, not everybody uses just drum samples.
