it's probably something really simple, but i just got my 2500 and im attempting to update the akai OS to the latest version. I follow the procedure on the akai website support section....

insert card, turn it on, connect USB cable....

the MPC comes up on My Computer as a new drive (specifically the G drive, as it does with everything i plug in there) but when i drag the .bin file over it, it comes up saying (please insert a disk into drive G.
so im a bit lost, i cant even copy the file to the CF/ MPC.

It way be something to do with my computer instead, but just thought someone might know whats up.

cheers.

P.S- Is there another way to update the OS if i can't get this to work. ie. copying the update file to the CF seperatly then loading it from the card (without connecting the MPC to the computer).?

8. Copy (drag) OS .bin file onto the CF card's ROOT DIRECTORY (ie: DO NOT PLACE IN ANY FOLDER) :?:

You might want to make sure that the CF is fully seated in the MPC drive slot, but otherwise no, you don't need to use the MPC to transfer computer files onto the CF. Any built-in computer CF or USB/PCMCIA type adapter should work.

That's cool. The only reason I know is because it happened to me. It didn't make any sense and I was as clueless as you until I started poking at the card.
