Automated file renamer (for the 16-character limitation)

So I had this topic double posted, about programs to automatically rename wav files so that they fit the 16character limit of the MPC and didn't cause problems.

A lot of you were really nice (including lampdog) to reply and I appreciate that, unfortunately I was saving all the information in the thread for later.

Upon returning, my thread with all the good answers was gone, and the duplicate that had zero answers was locked, leaving me double **** as far as getting any information is concerned.

What was it that you wanted again? A file renamer? Did you find one? Was one specified in that useful link you just posted? Did you try it? If so, did it work for you?

Hey send me your computer and I'll install the renamer for you. That way you don't have to read through the thread to find the link nor do you have to download the renamer yourself.

In the old thread that got deleted you and a couple other people had some links to programs that looked helpful, but at the time I didn't get a chance to download any of them.

This isn't a lazy thing it's just I was hoping to get the same people to post again so I could check out those programs.

And no, I don't see one in the 'useful links thread' but maybe I didn't look hard enough.

By the way thanks for not deleting this one

i have a userfriendly renaming program, i think its called 'Rename It' or something like that, i can check it out next time im in my studio.
