Its come to my attention from poking around ebay looking for a 2000xl that you can attatch a zip drive to the xl through the SCSI port.

Would it be possible to swat the zip drive for a external harddrive and have it simultaneously hooked to the MPC through SCSI and to a computer with USB?

Thanks for the feedback

do your homework....

yes, it is possible to hook up a harddrive to the mpc, but I wouldn't recommend hooking it up to a pc too!! search the forums and you'll find out why

please excuse my lack of knowledge on the subject but I remember when I had a mpc 1000 and it had a MCR I would attatch it to my comp with USB to get sounds saved on the Multi Card. If I was to install a MCR on my xl does the reader come with a usb slot? Or if not how do I trasnfer my wav files to get them onto the the disks and in my MPC. Do I have to buy a MCR for my comp too? Thanks a lot for all the help.

You put a internal atapi card reader in your xl, you also get a usb card reader for your pc.

You can transfer the card between the mpc and pc.

There's no usb connection between the 2kxl and pc.
