I just got the MPC1000 and have read how the pads can break. I already have an MPD16. Does anyone use the MPD16 as a controller for the MPC1000? I don't want to break to pads on the MPC.

i have. i used to use it to control 1 pad bank while the mpc controlled the other.

it works well, but to me it wasn't worth it. i liked to have it all under my nose. now i just use the 1k pads.

you can add two more to do the full 64 pads if you have a midi merger.
