Whats up everyone, i just wanted to confirm that this paticular unit was going to be legit. I just sold my 1k and just got the 2kxl :) (which i am very happy about) Is the mounting rack neccassary? Is installation fairly easy? Something i should be able to do on my own? Thanks for the advice and i look forward to participating in this forum alot. Thanks and stay up.

Installation of this reader is very easy. I've got the same one.
Here's the manual - it takes you step by step and shows the (short) process.

You don't need a special mounting rack, the same one after floppy drive will do just fine.

Hi,

Do you need special cables to install the card reader?

If I check the link above I understand that I'll need this one for sure:

But not sure about this one:

Could u please let me know?

Thanks

fellas, you only need extra cables if your xl had a floppy drive.
if you already had the internal zip drive there's no need for any extra cables.
so installation is even easier...

In my case I need extra cables because my MP has an internal floppy, external zip.
Question was, do I need both of them or just th 1st one?

Another doubt I have before I install the card reader is:

To transfer my data from zip to flash card do I have to follow the same process to save data from floppy to zip (= load from floppy on the MPC and then, after changing device type, save on zip?).

Im not sure what your question is ...

What I meant was:

1nce I'll have the card reader installed will I be able to transfer files .snd, .mid (.whatever file) from zip to flash card?

I've also heard compact flash cards are the 1s that work better with the MPC card reader, any brand in particular?

D-Ill,

Don't wanna sound like somebody else but... SEARCH man!

I wanted to give you a shot with shopdigi.com, ordered mine 4 dayz ago there, but they say it's out of stock now.

Don't get ripped off by VST just search around and be patient.

In the meantime try these (next time I won't search)
