Midi Events getting cleaned ...

Hi everyone!
Just a quick question, I hope this doesn't bother you guys too much:

When recording a bass line with resonance modulation, for example, is it possible to 'clean out' the unnecessary Midi info concerning the resonance modulation, in order to save Midi Events?

Let me try to explain it further. Say, I recorded a bass line with a 4/4 beat, and on every bass drum hit there is a bass hit. The Midi info between the 4/4 hits is useless. Is there any way to erase these Modulation info automatically without skipping through the Step Edit page step by step?

Any advise is greatly appreciated!

Hit the Erase button and choose the type of Midi Event you want to erase. using this you can delete all info except the notes, which seems to be your goal.

BTW you can find this info and much more useful stuff in the MPC 1000 manual.

I think he wants to keep the events on the hits. You can do it by erase, but you have to do it for every section you want to delete. Easier would be in ste edit, choose the event type to be shown so u only see the modulation, then delete everything you dont need (f4)

actually...it's not a beginner question at all.

many hardware sequencers had a kind of 'midi purge' function that would get rid of all unnecessary midi data...really useful when you start getting those 'sequence full' messages. basically it would just erase all cc info that was redundant, i.e. pitch wheel change messages occuring when there were no notes playing and so on.

i don't think the mpc has this ability (other than deleting in step edit as mentioned above), but it would be useful.

well, if you need just ONE midi event on every bar the easiest way would be to eras all CCs and enetr GRID (or STEP) edit and manuall insert the event where you need it rather than deleting god knwos how many redundant/useless midi events.
However, there's is no MIDI purge on the MPC1000

Indeed, I was asking about the 'unnecessary' Midi information, of course not the Resonance Midi Info I recorded on the hits, but it wasn't really clear in my initial question.

Concerning the beginner's question remark, right on, simply don't answer these questions, I wouldn't have asked if I had found the right answer in the manual.
