Are the FX on 4000 standard

or do you have to get an FX card like the 2000(xl)?

They are usually standard.

i don't even think they offer an additional FX card > just the ANALOG/ADAT/DIGI cards > anyone know of any or third party?

nah, there is just a standard effect card

i LIKE THE FX YOU JUST HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO EDIT THEM AND CUSTUMIZE THENM TO THE TRACKS YOU ARE USEING

some of them are def useable, but they really need to fix that eq, it sucks badly

i think all of the FX are good, in an edit it all way and that's what keeps you cracking the cymbal like you and no one else.

IMO the effects are all studio quality in application usage, they are not GLOBAL effects and shouldn't be used that way UNLESS you've recorded with this usage in mind and have set up your SEQUENCE data with the idea everything needs a little chorus or pre-delay in the reverb for live application.

Hmmm..... many of you MPC4000 users have probably noted at some point or other that "the level of the built-in FX isn't very loud", and that you have to mess about with wet/dry ratios and send levels quite a bit to make things sound right -

well, I did some measurements using the level meters in RECORD mode (setting to record from the Main Outs),
and my conclusion was that the maximum level you can EVER get back from the FX board is -12dB!!
Clearly this is not very good

Here's what I tried:
In MULTI mode, go to the MIX page, and select an FX bus in the FX send....
....then go to EFFECTS mode, and turn the FX off, and the direct signal off, and the 'level' of the FX to 100....

.....no matter how high you turn the FX send in the Multi Mix page (it goes up to +6dB), or how loud a sample you pump though there (even one which, going through a normal part path, would register 0dB on the record meters), the loudest it will go on the FX bus is -12dB.

Can this be changed?
It causes real problems for certain types of effects
(principally ones where you'd generally want to set direct signal to OFF,
and have them 100% wet, such as compression or distortion....) ""

Yo Rev, in the other forum, Sean (from AKAI) said they got FX levels fixed and it'd be in the next OS with audition from disk.
