If there was ever a gold mine...I found it but theres a catch.
Found an old record shop that went out of business. It appears the owner
has been evicted from his spot and put alot of records out by the dumpster
which really has no dumpster but is inside a fence that says "No Tresspassing". Its clear to see that these can Never be sold because they have all been left out in the rain. This is a spot I used to go to when I need to replace a cracked record or just pickup a record I remembered from back in the day and just wanted to get it. @ $4.50 each I stopped going when other spots were sportin .50cent joints etc.
late one night I decided to take my chances slid thru the crak....copped a couple of 1 cubic foot boxes of records, (Heavy as Hell!!!!)
J- osborne
Gladys
Bowie
Freddy Jackson
Teddy pendergrass
Alabama
rick james
....bout 100 records in all. Some of the album covers are destroyed because they have been left out in the Rain...but once I cleaned the records up, They looked like they had never been used...Like New Old Stock records that just simply got wet.. I am going back there this week.
I will keep yall posted and make a list. I may be getting rid of some of them once I get what I need off them.

There are still close to I know a Good 1 thousand records that haven't been touched...I called the store and left a messege about buying the rest of them. Soon as I know something concrete I will share the info.
Maybe someone on the board here is willing to bring a Truck etc. and haul off the Rest for Free probably. I don't have the room to store all the records left out there......

Thats nice! I love to hear stories like this but I hate hearing about records that have been abused. Its sad that some people just dont care about records :? Why you trying to buy the rest of the vinyl if he just sat them outside in the elements not caring about them? Just go take them joints and ship me a few

LOL same thing happen to me. i was walking form my peoples house and i saw a pail of records i was like HELL YEA, so i ran back to my friends house got a big black trash bag... dumped them all in there and jammed him...

i found records from The Battles, Motown collections, Al Green, Dianne Warwinks...

but i rained for about 3 days before i ran into them and it looked like they were kept in a basement cuz they smelled like something died in them and old furniture...
