I have a question on setting, saving and changing effects settings on the MPC 2kxl. I have the effects board EB16.
I know that you can only assign the efx to one program at a time and that the settings for the effects are saved with the program. But thats about as far as it goes in the manual. So here is my question?
I have a sequence (seq 1) with a Drum Program 1 (Drum 1) and a Midi Program 1 I have the FX assigned to Drum Program 1 and all is sweet. I have a new sequence (seq 2) which is a new song which I will be playing live. I need to change the Mulit Program on my external midi module and I need to change the Drum Program to a new set of sounds in Drum Program 2. I also need to make sure that Drum Program 2 loads its corresponding effect settings which are different to DRUM 1. How do I tell the effects to use the settings for DRUM 2 insted of DRUM 1? Is it a program change of some kind?
Now when I get to Seq 5 in my live set which is for arguments sake song 5 and after I have allready used DRUM 1, 2, 3, 4 can I insert a program change to load a new Program into DRUM 1 for the new sequence? Because I can load more than 4 programs into the memory right? As far as I see it If this is possible I could get away with only using DRUM 1 for most all of my whole set. This may solve the problem mentioned above where I have to tell the MPC which effects settings to use!
