MIDI in/output problems!

Ive just got SONAR Home studio 6 and Ive bought a usb to midi cable. Ive linked my MPC to my Laptop with it, but nothing seems to happen! I dont think Sonar can find it! The wire I have is a E-MU XMIDI 1x1. Could anyone help me please!

did you setup your midi options in the mpc & sonar? if not you need to...

you gotta set them both up so they can talk to eachother. the cable might be plug and play but they wont set themselves up just by plugging the cable in

erm, not sure wot u mean! ive only just started using the MPC and Sonar so im just learnin at the min! how wud i set the options?
