Ughh...bass

okay so right now I'm using the 2000xl stand alone, but I wanna add something for bass, some keys, maybe horns and some other shit. I know i can sample bass, but I would really much rather just hhave it at my fingertips along w/ a bunch of other stuff.

So basically: Should I get a sort of module/rack (mo phatt, proteus, etc.), a full keyboard (asr10, eps16, microkorg, pk-6/mk-6, etc...), or something else?

I'm willing to spend in the $500/600 dollar range but I'd prefer lower...

any help would be appreciated!

midi keyboard and some software? i hear many folks going the trilogy route. or maybe a cheap pawnshop bass guitar? its one of the easier instruments to just pick up and go with. might couple it with some plugins or pedals or whatever filtering youd like. just reppin the cheap economical alternatives.

TRilogy is def dope and i love it.

but. . . if you plan on buying it, its not necessarily cheap.

Thanks for the replies...I'm either gonna go with the mo phatt module (or pk-6/mk-6 key), microkorg, or an eps16+ (I know it's a sampler, but what the hell)

Bass guitar while easy, is not that easy.....months of practice to play anything passable at a pro level and years is a more reasonable estimate. Of course if you sample it, that only takes an hour or so to get a decent group of samples.....
