I received Rohan's Vailixi OS v3.50 last night and it blew my mind!

I got home at about midnight last night from a flute lesson and it was waiting for me. It only took a few minutes to install and I was up and running. I proceeded to stay up all night playing with it and now I'm in serious pain at work this morning.

Make no mistake, this upgrade turns the 3000 into something different, there is a whole new realm of possibilites here.

Editing samples, chopping zones into new sounds, and messing with the mixer while the sequence is playing is something I can never live without again. That's just scratching the surface of the new feature set.

I make music with little more than records and an mpc. I use mine for hours a day, sometimes all day, and this new os is going to make that time exponentially more efficient. The ability to copy scsi drives means I won't lose my stuff anymore!

I haven't gotten to really dig in yet, but I'm sure this going to shape my summer. I've had about every sampler on the market past and present, and for me, the mpc3k is the one. This OS makes it much more so. Rock Solid!!

Don't sleep, if you have a 3000, go and get this upgrade ASAP , it'll do more for your music than anything you could put the money towards. I highly recommend the star title and hard burn options too!

All I can say is: THANK YOU ROHAN!

Your hard work and dedication to this community doesn't go unnoticed and I'm very grateful for your friendship and your help.

I can't wait to buy this upgrade but just bought two mpc 3000's and one needs repair so have to wait awhile to get finances right again but as soon as I'm able it's on.

I'm getting a second 3000 because of this upgrade too. I doubt there will ever be another hardware sampler that does what this thing can now, elegant, simple and limitless.

Look at the par. file section in the appendix of the manual to see all the cool stuff you can have in the hard-burn option.

Seems really interesting, but no folder support; that kinda sucks. Thats the only reason why I don't own a 60/3000. Renaming every single file is a pain unless your using slow floppies. Maybe I'm just lazy tho, or spoiled! :)

finally got my mpc 3000 back last night. complete refurb. all new butons, new pads, new fader, backlight etc. but also got a pcd25 and valixi installed. havent had too much time to spend on it yet but everything seems to be working just fine. have the day off work tomorrow so i'll let you know what i think once i've had time to get more familiar with it. :)

anyhow, big up rohan!

oh yeah and a big thanks to djchief for the pcd25.

still need to get another data encoder for it. vst sent me a faulty one. :(

..anyone know if i could just pick up a nice n cheap generic part from an electronics shop to replace this?

Older OS version in ROM CHIPS are still available from Akai repair shops.

Work created within your older OS 3.10 equipped MPC3000 will load and work fine on my 3.50 OS upgrade.

Rohan.
