Hi all,

I have been reading the forum for a few days now, and I would really appreciate a few pointers. I am trying to decide which model to buy, the 500, 1000 or 2500, based on my needs, and I think I need some pointers!

I have had in the past both a 60 and a 3000. I tried the old 2000 and didn't really like it that much, and the groove didnt quite feel the ssame to me, although that might have been my imagination..

I would be making my beats and then needing to get the audio into Protools.

Now: heres my prefs:

1. The feel of the pads is quite important to me, as I'm mostly a 'player' rather than a programmer.

2. I need to get the beats into tools, so I presume I need either MTC or some other way of syncing if I go for a machine with fewer outs. Is there any other way of doing this? USB?

3. I need to have USB to transfer my sounds from my DAW into the MPC.

4. I really want to have the nice groove the 60 had.

Well - any advice is greatly appreciated - I can budget for th 2500 but I dont want to spend more needlessly..

Thanks,

Paul

Needed the money for a different bit of kit at that stage!

Dopedee - how is your xl better than the 1k? (I'm presuming that hardware wise the XL and 2500 are the same?)

Thanks!

To be honest the 1k has many more features expeically with the new JJ os being updated frequently than the XL. I just like the feel of the XL and a few other personal options. The 2500 is basically everything i like about the 2000XL and all the features of the 1k put into one box. 2500 is the way to go if you have the cash. In my opinion too i would rather have a 2500 over the 4000. But thats just me. Ide just do some reasearch. hope this helps.
