I have read your post a couple of times and I can't figure out what you are talking about. Is it that you want to control tempo via the MPC and you want to hear the Proteus respond to the speeds? Enlighten me and I will try to help, I have this same setup.

When I build sequences I can control the tempo via the MPC. Are you in the "recording process"? You have to record first and then control tempo during playback.

just make a simple 2bar track with drums and let's say, two midi channels (instruments) after you are finished hit stop, make sure the OVERDUB light and RECORD light are off. Then hit PLAY, then cursor up to tempo next to (SEQ) and change the values via the NUMBERS or the JOG Wheel, the Proteus should change TEMPO as well. If this doesn't work, PM me and we can figure it out. Peace.
