I have a 2000xl and a 1000.

I want to be able to MIDI my Fantom to the A port to the 2000xl. (done)
And I want to be able to use the 1000 in port B.

When I hook it up, I can only use one track from the 1000 at a time.

Does the 1000 have MIDI tracks like the Fantom?
I know there's only 16 possible tracks but I guess i'm missing where I set this up on the 1000.

Help please thanks!

you're getting 'tracks' mixed up with 'channels'. a midi cable can carry 16 channels of midi. the mpc1000 can sequence 64 tracks. if you are trying to play more than one program on the 1000 live from the 2000xl, it's not possible unfortunately, as only the active track will be played by an external midi source. you could build your sequence in the 1000, then sync the 1k and the 2kxl so that they run together. if i've totally misunderstood what you are trying to do, please explain in more detail, thanks.

Before you do any of that you seriously need to buy a pair of Midi headphones in order for this to work.......
