Is this possible? I'm thinking this is way more cost effective as you can buy a used scsi cdrom from ebay for less than 30 and a db 25 cable from various sellers on ebay. I want to know is this compatible with the mpc 2000 if not i will just save up more and buy the mpc 2000xl. Lastly is there an external scsi card reader for the mpc 2000?

You've checked posts but you didn't read your machines manual did you? Go and do that.

So don't waste money homie, check out that manual. I wouldn't be trying to tell you if I didn't think it couldn't help you. Check the manual.

KK i just checked it and says the mpc 2000 does support some cdrom drives? My final question is can the mpc 2000 og run a scsi cf reader, or should i just go ahead and buy a mpc 2000xl and a atapi cf reader. Lastly I checked the manual and it did not say anything bout cf readers. I did some searches on the net for the IISMDC i think thats what its called and they only have them for sale at scsi4samplers.com for about 120 USD. Am I getting ripped off here?

are there any cons of using a zip than a cf reader. Whats the click of death?

Save up your money and get an xl.

Get it fitted with an internal atapi multi card reader (details ALL over this forum) and here.
