hy,
i bought the mpc 1000 black last summer around august and it worket great until a few days ago.(great tool).
since a few days files arent loaded right, for example solo is switched on on every sequence from any folder i load and its not possible to switch it off.
or folders can“t be opened or they are empty but if i wait a bit the data in the folder is shown right and few other things of this kind.
i save all the data (since i bought it) to a kingston flash card with 1gb memory.
if i use the card from akai 32mb i dont have these problems but i just tried it, and i dont have much data on this card from akai but mayby it has got something to do with the memory card ???
hope somedody knows what the problem could be
thanks

so how can i avoid the V2 corruption? I just got a used MPC1000 and it currently has 1.07 on it. I want to upgrade, but i want to avoid corruption. I also plan on getting more RAM and a hard drive in the future, if that makes any difference.

I thought the V2 corruption was only if you formatted something while using 2.10. so if i already have my card formatted (1 gig toshiba), it would be safe to upgrade OS? could i just go to JJ 3.06 (the free one) to format my hard drive when i get one, then go back to 2.10 if i want?

Basically, yes.

Rinseout makes a good point though. You might want to give 3.06 a complete test drive before you decide to load up 2.1.

do i have to format every time i change OS? or can i keep my 1.07 1gig card formatted as it is and simply go straight to 3.06 without reformatting anything?

I would strongly advise reformatting after installing V3.06. There is no need to reformat again after that. Also, if you decide to install a hard drive down the road you will have to reformat anyway, unless you only want to use 2 gigs of the drive because that is all the FAT16 formatting on 1.07 will allow you to use -- no support for anything larger than that.

why not use 3.06 from jj? it's free. then, when you can afford to buy the latest version, you'll have less of a jump to do.

but 3.06 doesn't have all the features, doesn't it? I thought that 3.06 doesn't have timestretch, but 2.10 does.
