You didn't know? Yeah, some of us just buy MPCs for conversation pieces. We need a need MPC because we are running out of things to talk about.

That reason and because some cats cant make a decent beat no matter how expensive their gear is. Some cats have 20 g's worth of equipment and their beats sound like 2 dollar joints.

Everything I am hearing on the radio and in the clubs sound like $2 joints (to me) but are being recorded in major studios released by major labels yet the kids still like it. So it all comes down to a matter of taste and personal preference.

hm, thats not a bad deal when you consider most places are charging 2g's for just the machine. think imma still shop around and see if I can find a chaper route while still keeping it a new machine

Most places are advertising it as $2K which is a price set or influeneced by Akai. Their actually street price is much lower.

A "friend" of mine is the manager at Guitar Center and the cost of the 2500 as of 4 months ago was right at 1400 or so. I'm guessing that if you walked into GC with 1600 cash, they woudn't let you leave without the 2500. Profit is profit!

yup. I got mine at "street price" for 1100 (no upgrades). Literally "street" price.

My advice, don't get one if its just a conversation piece. That would be just plain stupid. Only people who suck at things do that. Here's a thought. Get Frootyloopys or something...

I am offended. There is nothing wrong with getting one as a conversation piece. It looks pretty sitting next to Pee-wee leaugue trophies.
