does the 16 level button respond?
maybe it's just the brightness of the screen! try pushing the shift button and turning the data wheel to the right!

nothing worksa ta ll. i finally got the thing to load up. i just had to leave it alone for 45 minutes. the thing literally took that long to load up to the mpc 2000xl screen. bunk shit. then when it hits the main screen, i can't press shit. it might as well be a paper weight. damn. i guess i will go on the hunt of r another one and keep this one for parts. iknow the screen works fine, the pads are pretty new. the case is ill with it. i could use that again or paint this one. man i have bad luck. thanks for replyin you are one of the only ones to do so. peace

seems to be a lot of stuffed mpc's over the last few weeks. you gotta use some intuition and common sense when buying second hand gear. you gotta test it out first, if you cant do that make sure its from a reputable seller, that offers some form of after market service and or refund. i keep seeing dudes getting burnt of these forums, if the deal is too good to be true it usually is.

happy shopping!

on a side note, i did walk past a postage depot to see them throwing boxes off the back of the truck onto a pallet down below, i thought imagine all the delecates in there, what if my mpc was in one of them boxes, or my synth or lcd screen i just got mail ordered. wtf.. the blame can be put on the transit most of the time, which is why it pays to get your bundles of joy insured.

Check the RAM, it might be BAD.
The first thing mine does is "MPC2000XL...Detecting Memory...", Hopefully getting good RAM may cure it.
If that's not the problem, try a service center or something.

yep, even just check to see if the RAM is seated properly. then if that fails go buy some, its like $5.

HELL YEAH lol. i went on a tour in a UPS place around here looking for a job, and I see dude just letting the boxes drop on the table(moving machine, I forget the name, basically like the shit at the check out line at supermarkets).. i was suprised and thought to myself.... Fed Ex! lol

If the screen is blank white and there's no response then you might have to check your connections inside your mp. Try everything, but be careful. I got the white screen after I installed the card reader, and I really thought I broke my 2nd girlfriend, but after checking and re-connecting everything it started working. No white screens or anything.

I work in a logistic-center also and I see cracked and broken stuff so much that it makes me feel bad about customers. When buying over net I prefer pick-ups or Handle With Care deliverys. Allways CHECK THE PACKAGE before signing. If the courier has damaged your stuff you must report to them immediately.
