Polyphony issues??? Dodgy Ram??

Just recently installed an extra 16meg in my 2000xl, and on a few projects, when certain tracks are playing together, some of the samples will only play out of one channel, this can be remedied by muting other tracks. So it seems it has issues with polyphony, but im only playing about 6 tracks max, not containing mega info.
I though perhaps the Ram was not being accesed fast enough, could this be a possibility??

stereo samples use 2 voices my friend! so you can only trigger 16 at once, tracks hasnt got anything to do with polyphony, unless yur triggerer 1 sample per track.

Yes that makes perfect sense, unfortunately I am only triggering a max of 6 stereo samples at any one time, very strange.

you may have pads on note off and the durations are off, or you may have also set pads to mute other pads off! pres open window on the poly/mono/note off setting and tap a few pads to see!! other than that i cant think of anything, you can still get 32voice using the stock 2mb

Hmmm, nope, no mute groups or anything like that, getting worried now!!
Anyone else ever had this problem??
