whoa corruption in jj??

ok, so last night i was making a beat....had a total of 14 tracks 10 tracks of drums and 4 midi tracks

when i loaded it up this morning....only one midi track was working and it was playing jumbled notes....nothing similar at all to what i had recorded the previous night.

in addition
The 10 drum tracks were all on track 2....and the other 12 tracks said "unused" and my 4 bar sequence was now set to 2 and when i set it back to 4 it after 2 nothing played.

I was using 4.61...i've heard that i should have formatted the card....is that what caused this?...i updated to 4.63 this morning...but im very interested in what caused this...as im kind of reluctant to use the mpc if this could happen.

Well, if the card wasn't formatted with anything then you shouldn't have been able to save. So the question is, what was it formatted with?

If it was formatted with say, a PC I could see where things could get a little screwy.

If it was formatted with Akai MPC OS 2.1... well, we know what happens to drives with that unfortunate fate for sure. If you didn't reformat after switching to JJ from Akai, you didn't remove the source of the corruption.

If you formatted with any JJ OS post 3.06, then we might have a real problem, assuming it isn't something else specific to your machine.

i always format my sht from the jump... i dont know if this is your problem in this case but in the future i would recommed formating just in case to make sure you dont have saving/loading isssues.
