Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

Are there any Autralian MPC users on this forum? I've been trying to find the internal card readers here and have found 1 place in Sydney that carry the addonics readers but they dont have the Ultra drive (dicontinued?). If anyone has any info on where I can get the drives in Australia, please let me know as I've googled the hell outta the net and there seems to be no one in Australia who has or has heard of these drives. US cant be the only place where you can get these drives right?

I got an external one from ebay here in Australia. I think Verbatim used to do em here, but I don't know where to get a new one now.

what about second hand ones? i thought about those computer fairs/ cash converters etc but then i'll be running around sydney looking for it without knowing if they have it or not. any thoughts? its impossible that these can be that rare??right???i can still find external/internal zips no problem(in stores or the net)....but these drives????and zips are older than cf readers..so how can new "technology" be more scarce to find than the older crappier zips???this doesnt make sense at all..

hi, i have 2 internal zip units? 100mb and 250mb. both atapi. i am in australia and i was searching for a card reader for about 6 months, i trieed 3 different IDE/ATAPI ones with no luck,. then i decided to go SCSI for reliability and they are faster than the IDE ones, by few seconds. i was lucky enough to stumble onto 5 microtech pcd-47b's, 4 of which i sold for a hansom profit.

Go the microtech, solid ass internal card reader..

thanks for the heads up..this is insane..if it wasnt for the 2000xl being the best sampler i've used, i would have thrown it on the street by now..4 nearly 5 months of chasing up a damn drive and its been sitting there gathering dust :x so much for akai pro support..they were no help...and the endless sites with "discontinued" signs...thanks anyway

ill let you know if i see anything, it came to the point where i put a bookmark that started up with windows and searched ebay for card readers, so i wouldnt go a day without not searching for 1. i had lost all my shizzy on a zip disk, the drives were still fine but the cartridge i had been using for years gave way. i still have the 250mb zip and a few disks if u cant get a CF reader.

I just ordered this one IISDMC from http://www.psism.com

It took about a week to get to Sydney from the States and cost me roughly 100 AUD inc. postage.. put it in last weekend.. took all of about 10 mins to do and is working sweetly.
